Worldwide car part exports

Mobiletron deals in components for the automotive industry, exporting to over 100 countries worldwide. The car parts may not necessarily be made by the same company that manufactured the car. Nonetheless, they will work fine in that vehicle, often at a fraction of the cost.

External data storage companies

Mobiletron were encountering several issues with their data storage company, Elcome. All the information about each car’s make, model and individual parts was stored here. Elcome does offer websites as part of its service, but these are very generic. Therefore, they could not be tailored to Mobiletron’s specific needs, as this would have changed the site for all Elcome’s clients. However, communication with Elcome is relatively easy. Ultimately, a more efficient way of accessing Mobiletron’s large volume of data was needed.

Dynamic data input from external data storage companies

Interact-IT’s solution was to build a website for Mobiletron that uses an API to access the data stored by Elcome. Think of an API as a waiter at a restaurant. You place an order at your table, and the waiter takes that order to the kitchen to tell the chef what you want. The chef then makes the food, and the waiter then delivers the food to your table. Due to this, the API we created for Mobiletron made it easy for customers to input vehicle details and for the car part details to be sent back from Elcome.

Once the car part was placed in the customer’s online basket and they had logged into the website, a second API was used to send the customer details to Mobiletron Taiwan. Depending on how many parts were being ordered and the stock available, a set price was then returned via this API, and the order could be placed.

Seamless results for customers

The result is that Mobiletron no longer has the hassle of communicating directly with Elcome. Their data is now easily accessed, which has made their website much more efficient.
