The Brief
Thorntrees Garage is a specialist second-hand wheelchair accessible vehicle business based in Leyland, Preston and were looking for a revamp and refresh of their website.
Their existing website was built in WordPress and used a template that had served them well but required custom programming to complete the features that they needed to display to their customers. This included features like an advanced payment required, rather than a specific price when dealing with Motability.
As well as the specific functionality that was required, the site needed to be modern and reflect the changes to their business as they had recently moved to a new space that offered more room to provide a covered showroom and offer a better test drive facility.
Strategy
We decided to ditch the WordPress approach and instead custom build a webiste that allowed the functionality that specialist car dealers require, rather than the more generic templates that were available for more common car traders.
We decided to use a php framework with a clean, modern skin that will be lightweight, fast, future-proofed for any further functionality updates and look good across all device sizes.
Updating car stock is vital to the upkeep of the site, so the ability to easily add new cars, with images and videos was a function that was built into the bespoke CMS system in the adin section of the site.

Results
The resulting website encapsulates all that we set out to achieve. The new design is much faster, more secure, is easy to use and looks crisp and modern.
The ability to upload to stock is simple to use and from an SEO point of view just as good as the plugins WordPress offered.
